What Keepbooth keeps, for how long, who sees it, and how you take it back. No fine print beyond this page.
Keepbooth is run by Teneo Publishing LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, made in Fort Collins, Colorado. It is responsible for the information on this page. Questions and requests: privacy@keepbooth.com.
1. What Keepbooth stores
- Photos. Each strip, when and where it was taken (the venue, and the event and stop if there was one).
- Contacts. A phone number or email you type to get your photo, keep your strips, hear from a venue, or be told if you win a contest, each saved with the exact sentence you agreed to.
- Consents. Every box you tick: its words, its version, the minute you ticked it, and the minute you took it back.
- Locations. Only if you tick “Pin this strip where I took it”: your phone's location at that moment. Otherwise a strip only knows the venue it was taken at.
- Passports. If you check in on a FortList hunt, the six-character passport code you give, on that strip.
- Accounts and orders. Your email for a personal account or a venue login; for a keepsake, the name, address and email given at checkout so it can be printed, shipped and receipted. Card details stay with Stripe.
- A few extras you choose to give: a birthday month and day if a venue asks and you answer, a note under “How was it?”.
- Technical. A scrambled (hashed) form of your internet address in short-lived counters that stop abuse.
2. How long
- A strip is kept until the date shown on its page, then deleted with its files. That is the venue's own period, or 90 days if it set none; a strip from the free booth at keepbooth.com/try is kept 7 days.
- A strip you keep in your own strips, or take in a personal account, stays until you remove it or delete the account.
- A contest contact is erased 30 days after the contest's deadline. The entry and its strip follow the strip's own date.
- A pinned location is rounded to the venue's point after 12 months.
- The record of what you agreed to (a venue's list, a box you ticked) is kept as the evidence of that agreement, and a take-back is stamped on it rather than erasing it.
3. Who sees what
- You, and anyone you give your photo's link to. The link is private and hard to guess; share it with care.
- The venue where you took it sees: its own guest list, which holds only people who ticked to hear from it, with the words they agreed to; the strips you let it share on its social media, including a strip you shared with “Check in & share”; the strips you put on its website; how many strips and guests it had. At a 21+ costume-contest stop every strip is entered automatically and the judges see it in a private judging grid; at a family stop a strip is entered only if you tick “Enter this strip”. A contest contact is used only to tell a winner. A number or email you gave only to get your photo is never on the venue's list.
- FortList sees counts of strips per stop; if you check in on its hunt, your passport code, the strip's id and link, and your pin if you made one; a strip only if you tapped “Check in & share” (or, before that button, ticked “Let FortList feature this strip”) and said everyone in it is 18 or older; a contest entry only if you made it public at a 21+ stop. Never your contact and never a venue's list.
- The public sees a strip only where you chose it: its public page, a venue's website, or the Keepbooth map. A strip you keep from a 21+ venue shows on the map unless you hide it; strips from family venues never do.
- The companies that run parts of Keepbooth for us: our database and file storage, our web hosting, our messaging service that sends your texts and emails, Stripe for payments, and our print partner for keepsakes. Each gets only what its job needs.
- The people who run Keepbooth, to run it, fix it and answer you.
4. Children
Keepbooth is not meant for children to use on their own. Keeping strips, pinning a location and personal accounts are for people 13 or older; we don't ask for a birthdate. A strip with anyone under 18 in it never goes to FortList or a public Keepbooth page: those choices say everyone in the strip is 18 or older (21 or older for a venue's website and public contest entries). A shop's own social-media box at a family shop, and a costume-contest entry at a family stop, can be agreed by a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete any strip of their child: write to privacy@keepbooth.com with the photo's link.
5. How to take things back or delete them
- Any box you ticked: open your photo page and use its Take it back or Remove link. It stops on the next view.
- Texts: reply STOP. Emails: use the unsubscribe link.
- Kept strips: in My strips, switch a strip to Hidden, Remove pin, Hide all, Delete my locations, or Delete my kept strips.
- A personal account: My strips, then Delete my account. Every strip in it goes too.
- Anything else, like deleting a photo before its date or leaving a venue's list: write to us (below).
6. Your rights and data requests
Wherever you live in the United States, you can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or for a copy. Write to privacy@keepbooth.com with the photo link, number or email it is about. We answer within 30 days, and may ask you to show the request is yours (for example, from the number or email itself). We don't sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. If you live in Colorado and we turn a request down, reply to ask us to look again; if you still disagree, you can contact the Colorado Attorney General.
7. Changes
When this notice changes, we post the new version here with its date and version, and it applies from that date. A choice you made keeps the exact words you agreed to.
